Autumn Classic Field

The Autumn Classic field is one of the major targets for a lot of classy three year olds. Because it’s raced over 1800m, a number of trainers attempt to get their better types into the Autumn Classic field as a means of helping them step up in distance. However, because the Autumn Classic field runs during the Autumn Racing Carnival in March or February, most of the three year olds have already had experience at that distance. As such, the Autumn Classic field is usually filled out with the young horses who put on strong performances during the Spring Racing Carnival and have been in the paddock since.

2016 Autumn Classic Field

The 2016 Autumn Classic field will be released on Wednesday, February 24th. Expect to see some familiar faces in the 2016 Autumn Classic field, as a large number of the three year olds will be returning to work from their break after their spring campaigns. The 2016 Autumn Classic field can be expected to be quite competitive, as the current crop of three year olds has shown a lot of promise.
